The tool for students to get started with teachers on digitalization, data, innovation and smart 'Internet-of-Things' sensors.
The tool consists of a teaching module with teaching materials and assignments, a physical Marvin Developer board with sensors and a power bank, and access to the Cumulocity IoT platform for data management and application development.
About the IoT Academy Education Kit:
IoT is one of the driving forces behind the next industrial revolution, where the boundaries between physical and digital will merge (further). The IoT Academy has been stimulating the market to get started with IoT for more than 4 years and has now summarized the lessons and best practices in this education module for secondary education and higher professional education / universities. With a hands-on approach, teachers are able to let their students make various solutions themselves, in order to learn by doing about how the IoT chain works and what is possible with it.
Platform & devices
The Marvin board can be easily configured via the Cumulocity IoT platform. From here, Code can be downloaded and loaded onto the Marvin via Arduino. This will send data from the sensors to the platform, where all kinds of dashboards and logic can be applied. As a teacher you manage a classroom account, in which you can easily connect and manage devices, students and applications. The wireless part of the Marvin to the platform is done via LoRa, a relatively new wireless communication protocol, with which you can perfectly send sensor data over long distances. In the education module you can build blocks and their alternatives are discussed and explained step by step.
The kit includes:
● Plug & Play Marvin Developer board with LoRaWAN5V, 2000 mAh Powerbank ● 4 plug & play "Grove" sensors
● 6 axis accelerometer & gyroscope
● Temperature
● Light sensor
● Sound sensor
● Ultrasone distance sensor
● 5 Grove connector cables (male-male)
Note: if more than 10 pieces are delivered we will deliver the boards by ourselves, otherwise we will send them by post
